Hi, I’m Joy

Eight years into my 25-year teaching journey, I was introduced to Positive Discipline and Positive Psychology.

Little did I know at that time, I would encounter two philosophies that would not only transform my classroom but also my belief systems, and ultimately, my life.

I’m an Emotional Architect

I deliver workshops and create educational tools to help parents and educators design a healthy emotional blueprint for each child. Because ALL children deserve a strong emotional foundation from which to thrive.

With 25+ years of experience in education and wellbeing, as a teacher, trainer, author, and speaker; I have devoted my life to making the world a better place through education.

With my combined passion and experience in education, professional development, and wellness I am able to offer a comprehensive look into the modern world of parenting, relationships, and personal and professional development.

MY WHY

At the heart of everything I do is a deep desire to make the world a better place through education. I’ve seen firsthand how powerful it can be when people are given the right tools not just to survive, but to truly thrive in today’s world. For me, education goes far beyond academics. It’s about empowering individuals with emotional intelligence, critical thinking, and a sense of purpose. I want to help people—young and old build the confidence and resilience they need to navigate life’s challenges and create lives filled with meaning, connection, and growth.

I also believe, with all my heart, that every child and every adult deserves to feel a sense of belonging and significance. When people feel seen, heard, and valued, they show up differently in their relationships, in their work, and in the world. That’s why I’m so passionate about fostering environments where people feel safe, connected, and empowered. Because I know that when we nurture the whole person, we raise a generation of leaders who care—leaders who will build a more compassionate, inclusive, and hopeful world for all of us.

MY PURPOSE

I am driven by people and purpose. For as long as I can remember I have had an ability to connect with people and share my passion for wellbeing. It is when I see that spark of passion ignite in a student or adult that I am teaching that I know I am fulfilling my own purpose to help create a world in which everyone will flourish.

I believe in being authentic, living my purpose, contributing to a better world and that anything is possible when we become the best versions of ourselves. I have always believed that the social-emotional wellbeing of an individual is the most important aspect of our health and happiness. Therefore all of my endeavours: founding Positive Discipline UK, co-founding iGROWco, creating SEEDS Institute, and co-authoring Positive Discipline for Today's Busy (& Overwhelmed) Parent have all been created ‘through the lens’ of developing the whole person.
